Nestled in a grassy hill on Victoria's Mornington Peninsula, Norfolk House is an exotic and enchanting retreat. Its brutalist architecture combines with layered interiors to boldly take on the new look of a beachfront house on the coast of Victoria, Australia.

住宅的室內陳設由Simone Haag設計，她以觸覺為主導的審美觀和粗獷的材料選擇與Travis Walton Architecture極簡且直觀的表現方式相得益彰，挑戰著人們對澳大利亞海岸住宅固有印象的同時，豐富而粗獷的材料與海岸的風化過程和永恆之美互為呼應。

The home's interiors were designed by Simone Haag, whose haptic aesthetic and rugged material choices complement Travis Walton Architecture's minimalist and intuitive presentation, challenging stereotypes of Australian coastal homes. The rich and rugged materials echo the weathering process and timeless beauty of the coast.

客戶希望將項目與他們在城市中的住宅進行區分，並且能夠將海灣、墨爾本天際線和附近高爾夫球場的美景盡收眼底。它們激發了設計師的靈感，最終打造出猶如酒店般原始且奢華的氛圍。建築從街道上看像是一道由異型混凝土製成的“城堡牆 ”，它預示著許多意想不到的時刻和元素，Travis Walton的目的是構建一種不言而喻的反建築形式的設計理念。

The client wanted to differentiate the project from their homes in the city and be able to take in views of the Bay, Melbourne skyline and the nearby golf course. They inspire the designers and ultimately create a pristine and luxurious atmosphere like a hotel. The building looks like a "castle wall" made of shaped concrete from the street, which foreshadows many unexpected moments and elements, and Travis Walton's aim was to construct a design philosophy that speaks for itself as an anti-architectural form.

步入室內，一個獨特的反向居住空間被置於一個架空的、類似於平臺的結構中，生成地下空間，也成為一處非常規的入口，創造了不同的入戶體驗。一個通向主臥猶如雕塑般的混凝土樓梯被佈置於此，可以俯瞰Sorrento高爾夫球場的綿延青山和Bass海峽的優美景緻。

Stepping inside, a unique reverse living space is placed in an elevated, platform-like structure, creating an underground space that also acts as an unconventional entrance, creating a different entry experience. A sculptural concrete staircase leads to the master bedroom, which overlooks the rolling green hills of Sorrento Golf Course and the Bass Strait.

雖然Norfolk住宅室內以米色、駝色和奶油色為主，但Simone Haag希望它有別於傳統的海濱別墅，避免過度的裝飾，將大膽、獨特、有趣的傢俱置入其中。由Note Design Studio設計的弧形Snow沙發佈置在起居室中心，重疊的長毛和條紋地毯彼此協調。

While the interior of the Norfolk house is dominated by beige, camel and cream, Simone Haag wanted it to be different from the traditional beach house by avoiding excessive decoration and incorporating bold, unique and interesting furniture. A curved Snow sofa by Note Design Studio is placed in the center of the living room, with overlapping long hair and striped rugs that coordinate with each other.

Many of the facades are made of old metal, blackened steel and dark stone to create an original, unpretentious feel. This tone is particularly evident in the kitchen, where bronzed brass leaves its mark over time, complemented by green marble benches and leather-textured black countertops, creating a space that is both luxurious and functional.

Another seating area, called "The Place of Comfort," features custom-made sofas and upholstered chairs from Chirimoyo, Mexico, as well as vintage lamps and yarn rugs. The carefully selected artwork in the space is both sculptural and functional, and resonates emotionally with the 1960s beach house.
